The College's governing body is known as the Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors (or ‘Board’) is made up of volunteer members drawn from the local community, who bring their expertise, energy and commitment to support the College in making the right decisions and improving opportunities and outcomes for young people in Norfolk and beyond. Members come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Currently our Board has representatives from business, social work, financial and legal practice, education and medicine. Some members are directly appointed by the Board and others are elected by the College’s staff, students or parents. Members are also referred to as ‘Governors’.

The Board works with the Principal and Senior Management Team to set the strategic direction and values which will drive the College towards fulfilment of its mission. The Board sets objectives and monitors results, supporting the College to provide the best learning experience possible.

The main responsibilities of the Board can be summarised as:

The Board meets up to 7 times per academic year and is supported by a number of Committees.

Governors fulfil a function of strategy setting, monitoring, oversight and financial probity but are not involved in the day-to-day management of the College. The Principal has board delegated responsibilities and the extent of this delegation is outlined in the College’s Standing Orders, as are the Terms of Reference of all of the Board’s Committees.

If you have any questions regarding the work of the Board of Governors please contact Joanne McDonnell, Clerk to the Governors, on 01493 662234 or email.
