Standing Orders

Every organisation benefits from having rules which govern the conduct of meetings.  The Standing Orders of East Norfolk Sixth Form College were approved by the Board on 19 July 2011 and are regularly reviewed.  The Standing Orders contain information on a variety of policies and procedures applied by the Board.  If you have a question about how the Board is run, you will most likely find the answer here.

You will find information on the following issues (and much more) included in the Standing Orders document:

Code of Conduct

The members of the Board of Governors are committed to the highest standards of conduct and accountability.  Their agreed Code of Conduct is designed to promote effective, well informed and accountable college governance.  Each Governor undertakes to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Instrument and Articles

The Board of Governors is bound, by law, to abide by the Further and Higher Educations Act 1992.  The Instrument and Articles of Government (The Further Education Corporations (Former Sixth Form Colleges) (Replacement of Instrument and Articles of Government) Order 2007 is more commonly known as the Instrument and Articles, and represents the obligations that the Board of Governors is legally obliged to meet.
