Independent Governor

Rashid has a background in the travel industry, and has a wide range of senior management experience in leadership, planning and strategic decision making. He is a member of the CMI and has recently obtained an MBA from the University of East Anglia.

Lorna Anderson
Chair of the Board of Governors, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and Independent Governor

Lorna has a professional background within the field of Law. She is a qualified solicitor and the head of the conveyancing and probate department of a local law firm. Lorna also has experience in lecturing adult learners on legal matters.

Independent Governor

John is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Building Surveyor with extensive experience in construction. He has held senior level positions with large practices and is a Director of a local firm of Consulting Engineers.

George Denby
Independent Governor

George is the headteacher of Caister High School, a mixed Foundation School for 11-16 year old pupils which has held specialist Arts College status since 2002.

Mark Duffield
Assistant Governor

Mark retired as Chair of the Corporation and as a Governor of ENSFC in 2011. He is now an Assistant Governor serving the Audit Committee.

Deborah Dyer
Staff Governor

Before swapping to teaching, Deborah spent 20 years in practice as an accountant. She achieved both her AAT and FCCA qualifications whilst working for firms in Lowestoft covering a range of business sectors for a variety of individual and local business clients. Deborah has also spent 8 years on the governing body of a large Suffolk Primary, and for some of this time she occupied the post of Vice-Chair.

Parent Governor

Barry has been an Education Adviser for Norfolk Children's Services for the last 12 years. Prior to this, he taught for 20 years in high schools and 6th forms in Norfolk.

Student Governor

As well as being a Student Governor Christopher is Vice President of EN’s Students Association. He is studying 3 subjects at College.

Daphne King
Principal

Daphne has 30 year’s experience in the education sector, across a range of schools and colleges in the county. A graduate of King’s College, London, she completed her teacher training in Norfolk and in addition to specialist degrees in music holds an MBA in Educational Management. Daphne has over 13 years of senior management experience and joined the College as Deputy Principal in 2009, prior to taking up post as Principal.

Neil has over 20 years financial and commercial experience and has held divisional Finance Director positions in large international organisations, and smaller independent businesses alike. He volunteers with the Open Youth Trust and is a Governor to 3 local schools.

David holds the FMAAT (Fellow) qualification in Accountancy, Business & Law. He is the owner and / or Director of several local businesses within the leisure, tourism, hospitality and construction industries. David is also the Director and Founder Chairman of the Great Yarmouth Tourist Authority.

Maria Marsh
Indpendent Governor

Maria currently works for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and has specific skills in the areas of finance and audit. As well as being the youngest person to have ever been appointed to the Board of Governors as an independent member, Maria is also an ex-student of the College being able to provide unique insight from both the student perspective and as a young professional who has now established herself in the business world. Maria holds a first class honours degree in Maths from the University of East Anglia and will shortly become a fully qualified accountant.

Philip has over 10 years’ experience working in the education sector, prior to which he worked in large organisations at middle and senior management levels. With experience in strategy, staffing, contracts and public relations, Philip also has 8 years’ experience as a governor at a local high school.

Willy Notcutt
Chair of Search Committee, Employment & Remuneration Committee, Special Committee and Independent Governor

Willy is a consultant at the James Paget University Trust Hospital, and honourary Senior Lecturer at the University of East Anglia School of Medicine. He specialises in anaesthesia and pain management and often appears in the media commenting on these issues.

Parent Governor

Stuart has a combination of nearly 20 years sales, marketing & contracts administration experience in a variety of customer facing and business to business roles. With core strengths in data analysis and customer services, his previous work included hire fleet and brochure content administration for a nationally recognised Holiday Boating and Self-Catering Accommodation provider. In his day job he sources and supplies stainless steel and other non-ferrous metal alloys to local engineering companies. Voluntary work includes being active within Lowestoft Town Pastors and as a Youth Leader.

Randhir Seewoodharry Buguth
Independent Governor

Randhir moved to the UK from Mauritius in 2006.  After graduating from the University of Marseilles, France, he had a private dental surgery where he worked as a general practitioner for 20 years.  He was been the president of the Mauritian Dental Association for 2 years and has been instrumentive in educating school children and lay people on oral health.  He has organised many conferences for the continuous education of the dental professionals. He completed his NVQ level 4 in health and social care in 2008 and is now  involved in care home management.

Lesley was born and educated in Lowestoft. She qualified as a social worker in 1972. Lesley worked full time until her retirement and has worked in London Borough of Camden, Charing Cross Hospital, Shetland Island Council and Norfolk County Council in various social work and mangerial roles.

Ria is a student governor, elected by other students at the College. She is also President of the Student Association. Ria is studying 4 subjects at East Norfolk and hopes to progress to university.

John Tomalin
Chair of Audit Committee and Independent Governor

John retired from his position with a major UK Bank as a Senior Regional Manager (Retail Risk) responsible for the East of England. During his 33 years in banking he has been involved in risk assessment, staff selection, team building & management, empowerment, coaching, motivation, decision making and policy setting and has an understanding of finance both from a personal and business perspective. He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Independent Governor

Lynda was appointed to the role of Independent Governor in 2012 having initially joined the Board as a Parent Governor. She is passionate about student progression and the promotion of the local area to retain talented, skilled young people. Lynda has high level skills in data management and works as a Management Assistant and Education Liaison Officer at a local microelectronics manufacturer.

Joanne has a background in high level business administration, and has been the Company Secretary and Company Director for several small businesses. Prior to joining the College, Joanne was the Legal Support Officer for a multi-national asset management firm in London.
