The post holder will be part of the Senior Management Team and responsible to the Principal for the strategic oversight, efficient operation and development of the College’s curriculum, teaching and learning, admissions and enrolment. The post holder will deputise for the Principal for all of the Principal’s accountabilities, in the event of the Principal’s absence, ensuring strategic management continuity in the event of an extended absence.

They will be responsible for the overall management of Ofsted inspections and the preparation of associated reports, policies and charters related to performance for both internal audiences, such as SMT, Governors and Curriculum Managers and external audiences, such as Ofsted and the Local Authority’s or the funding agency’s nominated performance manager. They will take the lead in managing Equality and Diversity. They will plan the College’s academic calendar and take the lead in planning the meetings cycle and chairing internal meetings as deputised by the Principal.

Ideal candidates for this register would:
  • hold a higher education qualification in the relevant subject
  • have a teaching qualification and/or relevant experience
  • if not a qualified teacher be willing to undertake training

College classes generally involve four lessons spread out over the five week days. In some cases groups may be shared to allow more compact timetables for part-time teachers. The exact full-time equivalent of advertised posts is not yet finalised. It depends on the level of student demand and may reflect the flexibility and range of skills of applicants.
